Fab Lab is a 501-C3 non-profit in Downtown El Paso that aims to provide accessible educational experiences for students and professionals to support the development of more ingenious and resourceful products. It is a friendly makerspace and hackerspace for the makers, hackers, tinkerers and DIY enthusiast in the region.
They let us take a sneak peek at their humanoid robot currently being built with the potential for A.I.! The project is funded by microsoft Techspark and a twin robot is being built in Juarez’s Fab Lab, the goal is to have the two robots speak to each other.
Fab Lab works closely with school districts and is currently offering a summer program called Girls Who Code open to middle and high school age girls. The Program is free to sign up and attend.
Other services that Fab Lab offers to the community is custom fabrication in CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining, 3D scanning, electronics and more.
