Insider Exclusive: Preservation Texas

Downtown El Paso continues to grow as a hub for culture, history, and community—and now, it’s home to a new chapter of a statewide preservation effort. Preservation Texas, an organization dedicated to protecting and celebrating the architectural and cultural heritage of the Lone Star State, has officially opened its doors right here in the Borderland.

We sat down with Victor Hurtado, West Texas Program Officer for Preservation Texas, to learn more about their mission, why they chose El Paso as their newest home, and what makes their current exhibit, “Adobe at the Pass,” a must-see for anyone interested in the city’s deep roots.
