Downtown El Paso is about to welcome a fresh and exciting addition to its culinary scene. OXO, a new restaurant, is set to open its doors on July 1st at 11:00 am. The restaurant is located at 120 Paisano Ave, and its grand opening promises to be a landmark event for the local community.
OXO is the creation of Mario Polar and his family, who are originally from Guadalajara, Mexico. The Polars have lived in the United States for twenty-two years and recently relocated to El Paso from California. While in California, they successfully ran a business called Familia Market. Upon moving to El Paso, they observed that many businesses did not embrace typical Mexican names, inspiring them to name their new venture OXO. The name OXO is derived from the Nawat language, meaning “path” or “camino” in Spanish, symbolizing their new journey and aspirations.
Mario Polar and his family are enthusiastic about their new venture and the opportunities it brings. “We are very excited for this new path and hope that this is the first of many OXOs that we open,” Mr. Polar expressed. Their vision extends beyond just opening a restaurant; they aim to contribute to the revitalization and beautification of Downtown El Paso. By bringing more families and businesses to the area, the Polars hope to play a role in transforming the downtown landscape.
OXO promises to offer an authentic dining experience that reflects the rich cultural heritage of Guadalajara. With a passion for quality and a commitment to community, the Polars are confident that OXO will become a beloved destination for both locals and visitors alike.
Join the Polar family on July 1st at 11:00 am for the grand opening of OXO, and be part of the beginning of this exciting new journey.
