Ribbon Cutting to Celebrate Rewind El Paso, Downtown’s New Physical Media Store
DOWNTOWN EL PASO, TX — The classic video store experience is back in Downtown El Paso. The El Paso Downtown Management District (DMD) invites the media and community to celebrate Rewind El Paso with an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 10 at 1:30 PM at 205 S. Stanton St., inside El Nuevo Tiradero on the second floor.
Rewind El Paso celebrates and preserves physical media with a collection of VHS tapes, LaserDiscs, DVDs, Blu-rays and 4K movies, along with original movie theater posters, CRT televisions and specialty sections for horror, kids movies and more.
Owner Sergio Olivas created the store after years of collecting physical media and missing the experience of visiting a neighborhood video store.
“I never stopped collecting physical media, and I always missed having a video store to visit,” Olivas said. “I just decided to make my own.”
Rewind El Paso officially opened September 1 after Olivas first introduced the concept through local vintage markets. Future plans include movie nights and special screenings of films rarely shown on the big screen.
“We’re excited to welcome Rewind El Paso to Downtown and celebrate another unique, locally owned business adding to the Downtown experience,” said Ivan Bernal, Marketing & Communications Manager for the El Paso Downtown Management District.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin promptly at 1:30 PM and will include remarks from DMD and Rewind El Paso representatives.
