
El Paso, Texas (December 12, 2024) – The El Paso Downtown Management District (DMD is pleased to announce the approval of four grants aimed at revitalizing two key properties in Downtown El Paso. These grants, approved by the DMD Board of Directors during the December board meeting, represent a significant investment in the improvement and preservation of downtown properties, further contributing to the vibrancy and appeal of the area.

Project Description: The improvement projects at 400 W. Overland include facade updates and a mural. The facade work involves removing center double doors, filling in with cinder block, patching, painting, and installing a new wooden door with a stained finish and hanging rail. The mural, designed by local artist Rodolfo Baquier, will be placed facing Leon Street, adding vibrancy and artistic value to the area.

Project Description: The projects include the replacement and installation of new aluminum, glass, and doors on the Mesa and Mills sides of the property, as well as the refurbishment, restoration, and reinstallation of three vertically lighted signs to enhance the building’s historic character.
