El Paso, TX (May 20, 2025) – Get ready, El Paso! For the first time ever, the El Paso Downtown Management District (DMD) is bringing the ultimate tribute to Tejano queen Selena and the bold, flavorful culture of salsa to Union Plaza with the Selena & Salsa Market on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 11 AM to 3 PM at 117 Anthony St.
This brand-new event promises a mix of music, flavor, fashion, and community, right in Downtown El Paso. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Selena, a salsa lover, or just looking for a fun afternoon out, this free, family-friendly market has something for everyone.
What to expect:
- A Selena-inspired market with over 30 local vendors
- A variety of food trucks
- A show-stopping Selena tribute performance by Jezzika Sax starting at 1:00 PM
- Happy Hour Disco playing the classic cumbia hits from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- A Salsa Tasting Competition where you can sample and vote for the best salsa. Guests can vote from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- A Selena Look-A-Like Contest for both kids and adults will be held at 12:30 PM. The audience will help in choosing the winners.
- A Kids Zone powered by La Nube, packed with exciting activities like a Selena & Salsa themed coloring station, marker and foil prints, and vibrant coffee filter flowers.
