El Paso, TX – September 19, 2025 — The El Paso Downtown Management District (DMD) hosted a successful Downtown Employee Appreciation Day on Thursday, September 18, 2025, honoring the thousands of employees who keep Downtown vibrant and thriving every day.
The all-day celebration featured something for everyone, including:
- Over 1,000 free meals served at breakfast and lunch
- 550 paletas/ice cream treats handed out during the afternoon ice cream social
- Enrichment activities with The Humane Society and Tech Frontier
- A Relaxation Station with massages by Blush Spa Boutique
- Karaoke and games including miniature golf, jumbo Jenga, and giant Connect Four
- A lively Chisme & Cocktails Happy Hour at Rockstar Burger Bar, featuring free nachos, Downtown drink specials, and the giveaway of limited-edition Sally the Alligator plushes
For employees unable to step away and attend the on-street festivities, DMD staff also took the celebration on the road, bringing paletas directly to hardworking employees along El Paso Street, ensuring everyone could take part in the appreciation.
The highlight of the day was the Downtown Lunch Break at San Jacinto Plaza, where more than 700 employees gathered to share a meal, enjoy entertainment, and connect with peers in the heart of Downtown El Paso.
“This event is about celebrating the people who make Downtown El Paso operate,” said Joe Gudenrath, Executive Director of the El Paso Downtown Management District. “From breakfast to happy hour, even bringing paletas to businesses, it’s our small way of saying thank you to the employees who keep Downtown thriving.”
