The position of Assistant DMD Event Coordinator (AEC) is a short-term employment opportunity August – October 2026. The individual will work partially alongside the DMD Event Coordinator and partially independently. The AEC is responsible for assisting in the planning, management and implementation of all promotional events produced by the Downtown Management District (DMD) during their employment. The AEC works closely in cooperation with the DMD Event Coordinator, the Marketing & Communications Manager, the Executive Director and DMD team members to deliver high quality, engaging, professionally executed, fun events and promotions.
Assist in the development, management and on-site execution of DMD promotions and events, both large and small, using planning skills, a strong attention to detail, creativity, problem solving skills, logistics organization with a positive and assertive personality. All events are a team effort, but you are the logistics master.
Event Coordination includes but not limited to:
- Solicitation and communication with participating or impacted businesses.
- Acquisition and coordination with vendors.
- Develop a volunteer and staffing plan for event implementation.
On-site Event Management includes but not limited to:
- Work with event team and vendors/partners/businesses to ensure property set-up, tear-down and in-progress operations and make for a smooth, successful event.
- Recognize and address potential problems so they do not disrupt the overall experience.
- Manage events so sponsors and attendees enjoy a high-quality event that meets expectations.
Event follow up includes but not limited to:
- Work with staff to coordinate billing and receipts.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (or in progress) or 2 years of related job experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Canva and Adobe and/or other design applications
- Some planning experience
- Ability to manage multiple, ever-changing priorities, personalities and deadlines
- Customer Service Experience
- Marketing/Design/Social Media Experience
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Driver’s License
The Sanitation Program Team Member is responsible for keeping the sidewalks, curbs, alleys, parks, trash containers, and other areas of the physical environment within the Downtown Management District clean and free of litter, trash and other forms of debris. Team Members will be assigned specific tasks and focus areas by the Sanitation Program Team Leaders.
- Sweeps or removes litter from sidewalks, curbs, alleys, parks, trash cans and other public spaces.
- Assists with pressure washing (including gum removal) sidewalks, trash cans and benches on a scheduled basis.
- Assists with removal of graffiti/stickers/fliers/tags from buildings, sidewalks, and sidewalk/street fixtures.
- Assists with installation and removal of promotional content from streetlight poles and kiosks.
- Provides customer service to visitors, businesspeople, merchants and residents of the DMD.
- Communicates with co-workers and Team Leaders.
- Other duties as assigned to include but not limited to utilizing mechanized equipment, and working with other DMD employees on specific projects.
