Created in collaboration with the Rubin Center for the Visual Arts and the Mexican American Cultural Center, and presented as part of the exhibition Les Sembrantes (The Sowers), The Art and Flavor of Desert Foods invites participants to explore the region’s food traditions through hands-on cooking workshops. Guided by local food practitioners, this immersive experience highlights the flavors, techniques, and cultural knowledge of desert foodways—offering space to taste, learn, and connect with the heritage of the Chihuahuan Desert in a welcoming, community-centered setting.
