The El Paso Museum of History, located at 510 N Santa Fe Street, is hosting “Celebrate the Holidays with Us” on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 2-8pm. The Museum, right behind Cleveland Square where the Holiday Lighting will take place is the perfect place to button up your evening after the Celebration of Lights event and parade!
Inside the Museum you will see the Festival of Trees which is a collection of decorated trees including The El Paso Zoo tree which sports ornaments with genuine animal paw/claw/foot prints! This tree will be auctioned that night and proceeds go back to the museum.
Gingerbread Houses from local bakeries and coffee shops will be on display. Come in and sign the registry for a chance to WIN a Gingerbread House which will be announced at 8pm!!
The Museum of History will also be having an enhanced Up in Smoke Fire Department exhibition with tours provided by the El Paso Fire Department starting at 2pm. In addition, for the sixth year in a row, Traditions as Artifacts will be part of this holiday celebration from 2-4pm and FREE admission will be offered all day for the Tigua People of the Sun exhibition!
Tours of the different museum galleries will be provided by the museum staff from 4-7pm. The new gift store will be open and FREE FOOD and HOT Beverages will be provided to museum visitors starting at 2pm until they last!
