Reduced Risk Downtown Holiday Shopping

Please, stay safe while shopping Downtown for the holidays.

Wear a Mask

This seems like a no brainer by now but we are taking it a step further! While walking around Downtown we suggest wearing a mask at all times for ultimate safety, especially if visiting San Jacinto Plaza. With great power, comes great responsibility!

6 Feet Apart

Be respectful of Downtown business’s spaces and shops, while everyone is operating differently most shops have a limit as to how many people they are allowing into the store for the safety and concern of the customers and employees. Others shops Downtown are on the smaller side and can only hold a few shoppers at a time. Make sure while in the store to be conscious of your proximity to others and maintain 6 feet apart from each other. Some businesses have taken an extra step and taken the Pledge to Safety.

Pledge to Safety is a self-monitored program for local businesses created to implement additional safety measures to combat COVID-19. Participating businesses will pledge to comply with all of the safety requirements and recommendations made by health officials.

Hand Washing Stations

There are several hand washing stations located around Downtown to help keep you safe.

  • Overland & El Paso
  • Paisano & El Paso St
  • 3rd & El Paso St
  • 4th & El Paso St
  • El Paso & Father Rahm
  • El Paso St & 6th Street
  • 5th & El Paso St
  • Franklin and Oregon
  • Santa Fe & Franklin St.
  • Mesa & Main
  • Corner Mills & Oregon
  • Main & Kansas
  • Stanton & Overland
  • Stanton & Paisano
  • Stanton & Fourth
  • San Antonio & Santa Fe
  • Texas & Mesa

Fresh Air Food Court

If you are shopping Downtown and get hungry, grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant and head to the Downtown Fresh Air Food Court, a socially distanced, sanitized, outdoor dining area. Restaurants have varying operations with options of dine-in, take-out and delivery. See what restaurants are doing here.

Drive-Thru

An alternative to walking around Downtown, we suggest viewing the lights from the safety and comfort of your car. You can even order ahead (by phone or online) at some restaurants and pick-up food from a curbside. Downtown also has free parking spaces in front of some of your favorite restaurants. Some retail businesses are also offering curbside pick-up.
