This year has it’s most overused word, and that word is “unprecedented.” This year has seen more than a lifetime of unprecedented circumstances, including global quarantines. In El Paso, we’ve had to go without strolls in San Jacinto Plaza, opening day for the El Paso Chihuahuas, great dine-in meals, and most importantly, seeing our friends and loved ones. The “I Miss You,” campaign reminds us about what’s most important. Our relationships.
The campaign showcases photos of the fun times we had in Downtown with our friends and family. It also highlights the relationship Downtown businesses have with you, the customer, the worker, the visitor. Small businesses have more than a corporate face. Their face is often just like yours. Hard-working, family-oriented El Pasoans just trying to make it. As a community we learn to come together, and this campaign reminds us of times we hope to see again. The smiles, the laughs, the food, drink and interaction.
In the coming weeks, we will distribute, “I Miss You,” posts on social media, and post weekly giveaways. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for opportunities to win gift cards to Downtown businesses!
Thankfully, we are slowly venturing out, cautiously but with months of swelling anticipation to greet our friends. If you’re going to meet for the first time in a long time, don’t waste time trying to decide. Just meet in the City’s center. Meet Downtown.
Whenever you’re Downtown, share your content with us and hashtag #IMissYouDTEP because DTEP misses you.
