Celebrating Downtown’s Finest: El Paso Downtown Employee Appreciation Day
On Thursday, September 26, 2024, the El Paso Downtown Management District (DMD) will host Downtown Employee Appreciation Day, an annual event that recognizes and celebrates the hardworking employees who make Downtown El Paso vibrant and successful. Sponsored by El Paso Electric, Franklin Mountain Investment, El Paso Community Foundation, Hunt Companies, and Raising Cane’s, the event promises a day filled with festivities, gratitude, and fun.
A Day of Celebration and Appreciation
Kicking off in front of San Jacinto Plaza, the celebration will begin with breakfast at 7:45 a.m. and culminate with an Ice Cream Social at 3:00 p.m. Downtown employees will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy good food and participate in various exciting activities.
To show appreciation for their dedication, the first 400 attendees will receive free breakfast starting at 7:45 a.m., and the first 700 will enjoy free lunch beginning at 12:00 p.m. These offerings will be available while supplies last, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
To make the process smoother and faster on the day of the event, employees are encouraged to pre-register for swag during the breakfast and lunch hour.

Pre-register before arriving! While pre-registering does not guarantee you will receive a swag item, it will make the process faster and eliminate the need to register at the event. All you will need to do is show proof of registration.
Unveiling the Downtown Mascot
One of the most anticipated moments of the day is the unveiling of the El Paso Downtown Management District’s new mascot, a symbol that will represent the heart and spirit of Downtown El Paso in future events and community initiatives.
Enrichment Activities with the Humane Society of El Paso
Adding a unique and thoughtful element to the celebration, the Humane Society of El Paso will be on-site to offer enrichment activities that help reduce stress for both employees and pets. These activities are aimed at fostering mindfulness and connection, allowing attendees to de-stress in the company of adoptable pets.
(Please note: Dogs will not be available at the event, but if one of them pulls on your heartstrings, we encourage you to visit HSEP at 4991 Fred Wilson to add a new furry family member to your home.)
Pampering and Indulgence
To help employees unwind, Desert Spirit Spa will be offering Ooh La La massages during the breakfast hour, giving participants a chance to relax and enjoy some pampering as they start their day. Attendees can also cool off with a delightful ice cream social featuring sweet treats from Gozo’s Ice Cream.
As the celebration at Mills Avenue comes to a close, the fun will continue with a lively Happy Hour at Rockstar Burger and Bar, where employees can enjoy a nacho bar, drink specials, socialize, and cap off a day of appreciation in style.
