The DMD is committed to helping special events succeed.  If your organization or group needs help with marketing and public relations outreach, the Event Support Program could be a resource to fill your marketing gaps.

There are two forms of assistance:

1) Marketing / Public Relations In-Kind Support

Applicants can make requests for in-kind marketing and PR services to supplement existing DWTWN event promotions.  The DMD can offer a variety of services:

• Public relations writing and media outreach
• Strategic communications support
• Message development and branding assistance
• New media strategy and approach
• Marketing design and layout support for marketing materials (e.g. banner, community flyer)
• DWNTWN marketing outreach to retailers, restaurants, and other businesses

2) Sponsorship Funding

Organizations and groups can apply for event support for new DWNTWN events to supplement event costs, such as:

• Marketing materials (e.g. flyers, maps, signage)
• Event incidentals and supplies
• Logistical and other event needs

Criteria for Event Support Funding:

To apply for the DMD Event Support Program, please call the DMD offices at 915-400-2294 to set up a meeting to discuss your interest in this program.  Be ready to submit a clearly defined 1-2 page proposal, which will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
